General Ledger
The general ledger is the hub of our EZJOB accounting system. All subledger transactions
(Purchases, Payroll, Sales, Purchases Orders, Subcontracts, Inventory) automatically
generate consistent journal entries for review. These, and any direct entries, are
then directly posted to the general ledger and concurrently to the jobs ledger.
These two ledgers are in fact two "views" of the same database; this assures reconciliation
of job costs to the general ledger. Full transaction detail is retained in the ledger,
even for prior years, to provide detailed history reporting. Standard reports include:
- Journal Listings (by type, such as Cash Receipts)
- General Ledger Detail (this month, year to date, etc.)
- Trial Balance (month, year, etc.)
- Account inquiry
- Income statement (custom formatted)
- Balance sheet (custom formatted)
Each of these reports can be run for any period and companies you choose. Thus, in
addition to the routine monthly reports, you can also print special reports straight
from the menu, as for example: general ledger detail from last November through
February for all cost-of-sales accounts.
The EZJOB Accounting System provides a wealth of control capabilities and ease-of-use
features to enhance your productivity and accuracy -
- The chart of accounts provides up to 10 alphanumeric digits, with optional separation
of general and sub account codes. Each of your companies can have its own chart,
or all companies can use the same chart. The coding block also includes job and
cost codes for entries to job cost control accounts.
- Journal entries are made "in pencil", and can be listed, corrected or cancelled,
before they are finally posted "in pen".
- Reports can be viewed on screen, printed, or saved to your computer (Word, Excel,
PDF) enabling you to make edits to the report or email the report to a customer.
