For starters, job wage rates are found on the Jobs form. Each job can assign a rate to an occupation code, so that an employee with a specific occupation code working on that job will be paid based on the job wage rate instead of their default hourly rate. That's a quick overview of job wage rates, which you said you already understand (this is mainly for everyone else that comes across this thread).
Now on to occupation code mapping. Sometimes, certified jobs require you to use certain occupation codes. For instance they might mandate that the occupation code they allow is a Carpenter Apprentice II. You might have several employees working on the job that are actually Carpenter Apprentice I. You could change the default occupation code on each employee to Carpenter Apprentice II, but then you would have to change it back if that employee works on a different job (a pain). So we created occupation code mapping which allows you to map an employee's default occupation code to the minimum occupation code required on certified jobs. Then you just enter the employee's time as you normally do, and EZJOB figures out the correct rate.
Let me know if this answers your question.
